4 Favorite Stop-Offs of Travellers from Sydney to Melbourne

04/05/2019

Going on road trips from Sydney to Melbourne is becoming popular among Australian travellers and backpackers. It's not surprising, though. After all, this well-travelled route is filled with rainforests, beautiful views of the ocean, and awe-inspiring beach towns.

But of course, you can't appreciate all these things if you don't know where to find them. So, to help you plan out your entire trip, check out the following stop-off spots:

1. Kiama

Kiama may be a small town, but it's popular among travelers for the Blowhole. Located along a rocky waterline, this blowhole forms as a result of air pressure build up in a cave. Once the waves from the sea come rushing, water spurts out of the hole.

Aside from the Blowhole, this town is also famed for its pelicans. Make sure you take a #PelicanSelfie with these lovely creatures if you happen to drop by.

2. Jervis Bay

Known for its whitest sand, Jervis Bay boasts beautiful and crystal clear waters. Once you're there, it will make you think that you're in an exotic beach out of the country.

But if you're not in the mood to go out for a swim, you can probably explore the town's hiking trails or go rock climbing.

3. Bateman's Bay

From Jervis Bay, it will probably take you a few hours to arrive Bateman's Bay. This place has a couple of good restaurants you can pull up, and several stations where you can refuel and rest.

If you intend to spend a day here, then we suggest you take a trip to Colia or Turros. There's some lakes here with picturesque landscapes.

4. Lakes Entrance

As you enter Melbourne, do not forget to drop by Lakes Entrance. This flourishing fishing town is becoming a popular destination for families as a holiday destination.

If you are heading to Melbourne over the summer, be sure you book a space to rest and a place to park your campervan.

On a Final Note

Australia has all the best places to offer. However, it is impossible to visit all of them without renting a campervan. With a campervan all for yourself, you can be out on the open road, have freedom over the route you are taking, and see the places you want to go.

But if you have never tried hiring a campervan before, we suggest you book with TravellersAutobarn. They can give you handy tips and advice to make the most of your Sydney to Melbourne escapade.
